Now in it’s third year, the National Thinking of You Week (26 Sept – 2 Oct) is a week long event which inspires people to create a wave of love, caring and happiness by sending a card to a different person each day during this special week.
As in previous years, Woodmansterne are delighted to support this initiative with the aim of bringing the whole nation together for a special week of card-sending initiatives and events. Organised by The Greetings Card Association, the event now has the support of major retailers, department stores, independents, Royal Mail (look out for a special postmark which will be printed on every item of stamped post sent during the week!) and top consumer crafting titles Crafts Beautiful and PaperCrafter magazines – the event is certainly going from strength to strength!
It’s been scientifically proven that receiving a handwritten card makes people feel much more special than receiving texts, emails or Facebook messages. And it feels really good to send them too!
Cognitive neuroscientist, Dr Lynda Shaw firmly believes that receiving cards helps to stave off feelings of loneliness and isolation, increases self-esteem and even to ward off the early stages of depression.
Events will be taking place across the country – so look out for posters and flyers in card and gift shops in your area.
Let’s all get happy by connecting in this most meaningful way!
