Stephen Collins was born in South London in 1980. His first illustration was 'Chocolate Biscuit' (1983, crayon on paper), and he has been drawing constantly ever since. At the age of 9 his friend Jamie showed him a collection of Gary Larson's Far Side cartoons, after which the tragic path to becoming a cartoonist was set. Today he lives in Hertfordshire with his wife and three young children, commuting to the end of the garden each day to make illustrations, comic strips and graphic novels. The Gary Larson influence can still be seen in regular strips he contributes to Guardian Weekend and Prospect magazines, and his illustration work can be found in all sorts of magazine and books. His work for Woodmansterne marks his first foray into the world of greetings cards.
