Beryl was a self-taught British artist with a sharp eye for the joyful, cheeky and humorous moments of everyday life. She painted people as they truly are – laughing, dancing, misbehaving and having fun.

Her unmistakable style and infectious humour made her a national treasure and earned her an OBE in 1995.
